Are you a farmer or from a farming community?

Cork Institute of Technology will hold a meetup entitled SmartRural "The Future of Technology on the Farm" on May 24th at 11.00am

At the launch of the initiative, Catherine Murphy, Project Manager for the Smart Rural Project said “The Future of Technology on the Farm event will offer attendees a look into the future of farming technology and how that will impact them”

What can attendees expect?

Industry experts will talk about developments and opportunities in areas such as the Internet of Things, Analytics and Cloud Computing and how these technologies are changing the face of farming for the modern farmer in Ireland. Shane Cronin, Lead E-Learning Designer at CIT explains how a highly successful training course at CIT sparked the idea for this event. “In January of this year, we ran three bespoke courses here at CIT on empowering rural communities to use mobile technology. There was great demand for the course which also took in a visit to the ICBF in Bandon and Clonakilty Agricultural College to look at the practical applications of these technologies on the ground”

Speakers at the event will include, Professor Gerry Boyle (Director, Teagasc), Mike Brady (Brady Consultants), Karl O’Connell (DBA at ICBF) and Dairymaster.
