Who is this course aimed at?

This course is aimed at those working in the Chemical and Biopharmaceutical industry with a Level 8 in Chemical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering or Chemistry and wishing to further augment their qualifications and experience with a Level 9 Engineering qualification.

It offers those who have spent some time away from the industry an opportunity to upskill and gain valuable knowledge and expertise in current technologies and techniques now widely used throughout the industry.

The Springboard certificate in Process Engineering Developments offers candidates a chance to sample the Masters content and gain a qualification without fully committing to a Masters from the offset. The certificate in Process Engineering Developments is free of charge to those eligible for Springboard funding.

What skills will I learn?

Students will develop advanced analytical, design and research skills with an industrial focus. Content covers all areas relevant to the industry such as process improvement, health & safety, environmental management, business management and technology transfer. This programme aims to develop advanced analytical, design and research skills in Chemical Engineering with an industrial focus. Postgraduate students will undertake the final research element of this Masters programme in a host company or with their current employer. This will provide the researcher with an insight into the commercial aspects of engineering research and innovation and the opportunity to contribute to the development of the latest products and techniques. Graduates of the programme will be well equipped to respond to the needs of the high technology industries particularly those with a focus on Research & Development, and product or process innovation
