The Online Certificate in Digital Marketing (Level 8) runs twice a year.

The first course runs from September to December while the second course will run from January to May.

For those interested in applying for the September course, applications open in early June, and the course begins on the second Saturday or the second Tuesday of September.

Overview


The Online Certificate in Digital Marketing (Level 8) consists of four modules (5 credits each), which will run over one semester. The Certificate in Digital Marketing is an intensive 15 week part-time programme involving lab sessions, lectures, and live-case work with real life business’ that is designed to provide the knowledge, skills and confidence required to successfully market business in the digital world.
Participants will explore various social media platforms, website technologies (including mobile), analysis tools and much more in developing a toolbox of skills that is valuable and readily usable in a B2C (Business to Consumer) and B2B (Business to Business) environment.
The Online Certificate is structured to ensure that participant’s time is used intelligently and entails a wide variety of speakers drawn from the business world. A pioneering blend of lectures, seminars, workshops and labs is used to ensure that the programme is relevant, engaging and enjoyable.

The Online Certificate in Digital Marketing (Level 8) is aimed at those wishing to begin a new career, gain better career prospects within their existing career and those simply looking to upgrade their current marketing skills.
Whether you have been in a marketing role for years and looking to add the digital aspect to your repertoire or whether you own a small business looking to improve your SEO rank and your social media channels this course is flexibly delivered and is a manageable complement to a busy professional life.

 

Delivery

Online: Participants attend all classes online. A strong Internet connection, webcam and microphone are required and attendees are expected to attend all lectures ‘live’. Three lectures of 2 hours a week during weekdays over a 15 week period.

 

Aim


The Online Certificate in Digital Marketing (Level 8) programme has been developed to ensure that participants are developing relevant, up to date skills and knowledge that underpin digital marketing. Specifically, the programme aims:

1. To develop knowledge of digital marketing tools and technologies in the context of the strategic direction of a business.

2. To integrate traditional marketing principles into marketing activity in online and mobile environments.

3. To apply practical skills to web design to ensure optimised web/mobile platforms using SEO and content management strategies.

• Digital Marketing Environment – This module gives an introduction into the field of Digital Marketing, tactics and future trends in digital marketing. More information can be found here

 

• Digital Advertising and Social Media – This module is a hands on practical lab that enables students to create an integrated digital marketing communications campaign. Students will also learn the key aspects of social media marketing and advertising online. More information can be found here


• Website Optimisation and Analytics –This module will focus on the website aspect of the digital marketing environment. From improving the speed of your website to improving your search rank on sites such as Google and Bing, this module aims to improve your knowledge of maintaining an ecommerce website.
