TEL Staff Resources
Welcome to the staff resources page.
The TEL Department supports MTU staff to use the various ed-tech tools and platforms provided by us with confidence and creativity. We offer a range of different staff resources, including live training, help articles, and video content. We also run a help desk so you can contact us with any questions.
MTU has a robust and well-featured e-learning technical infrastructure with the Canvas learning management system at its heart. The system is integrated with the institute’s Student Record System meaning that every module has its own area inside Canvas with all staff and students enrolled against it or given access to it based on the most up-to-date information.
Zoom is MTU’s video-conferencing tool for live online learning and communication. Zoom is integrated with Canvas, so Zoom classes can be created and launched from inside Canvas.
Upcoming Training
The TEL department provide staff and student training throughout the year that focus on a variety of topics to keep staff and students up-to-date with updates and provide refresher training. The TEL department continue to update our self-paced courses for staff and students on Canvas including Canvas Learn for Staff and the Student Assessment Guide.
