BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN THE TRADITIONAL AND THE E-LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

2001 - 2003

This 2001 Socrates-funded project set out to establish good practice for the conversion of traditional (i.e. face-to-face) learning materials and methods for use in the online learning environment. The main project activities included the development and piloting of a new suite of online units of learning and the validation of new instructional design approaches for converting courses to an effective online format

*The DEIS Department of Education Development was originally set up in 1994 to “innovate in education for quality and for access”. The digital learning and ed-tech activities of the DEIS department and associated staff were ultimately transferred over to the new Department of Technology Enhanced Learning, c.2014-2015
