Reusable Learning Resources (RLR) Project

SATLE Funded Project

2023 -

An initiative of the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education in partnership with the Higher Education Authority (HEA), focusing on driving teaching and learning innovation, and enhancement across the higher education sector.

A call for proposals gave rise to a number of RLR Projects that TEL and EDSU will facilitate and support in 2023.

Teaching Resources for Instrumentation and Control Students (TRICS)

Project Lead: Stephen Collins

A suite of open-source learning resources will be developed to assist students in their learning and understanding of careers and fundamental concepts associated with instrumentation and control strategies

E-learning Module Resources for Architectural Technology

Project Lead: Derek O’Leary

A self-paced e-learning resource for developing a basic understanding of universal design in buildings with a specific focus on compliance with Part L of Building Regulations

LEARN BIG, STUDY SMALL

Project Lead: Deirdre Ryan

A series of information sheets illustrating first principles and best practices associated with technical detailing and prompting criteria that need to be addressed by students when undertaking to detail exercises on courses in architecture/built environment

Marine Alternative Fuel and Power Systems

An e-learning module dealing with issues related to the de-carbonisation of merchant shipping worldwide

MyBan CPD

Virtual Site Visits

A series of virtual construction site visits as a learning resource for Construction Management Students to supplement existing learning material

Learning Support Resources for Soil Mechanics and Environmental Laboratory Practicals

An interactive learning and assessment tool for students performing laboratory practicals, to ensure familiarity with and a thorough understanding of the testing activity process and the associated health and safety requirements

BioBites: Bite-size Knowledge for Fossil-free Sustainable Development

Project Lead: Tracey O’Connor

Digital learning resources about bio-based, fossil-free and circular innovations, technologies, business models and governance strategies that are essential components of our global transition towards more sustainable development pathways

RLR for Reflective Writing

Project Lead: Ted McKenna

A microlearning resource that will allow students to take agency in improving their reflective writing abilities, while also supporting teaching staff in integrating it into their modules

Croí

Project Lead: Gwen Lettis

“Croí” is a practical tool that supports educators in implementing ethics and values into education programs. It advocates the integration of students’ personal values and goals into work, to encourage an ethical approach

Audio-Visual Training Supports for Research Proposal Writing

Project Lead: Paul Green

The project proposes to develop video resources to support existing training provided for postgraduate (PG) candidates developing research proposals It is mostly focused on developing outline proposals in both Masters and PhD programmes prior to the external review process

An e-learning module will be developed to convert existing training programmes into a portfolio of learning resources for Aclú partners

Furthering Embedding Content Across Academic Programmes Tool (ECAAP)

A teaching toolkit will be developed from existing material to create a reusable and accessible tracking and mapping tool to contribute to a more coordinated and cohesive approach to teaching and learning various skills in many disciplines

Blockchain Technology Awareness Enhancement

A series of videos to educate students in different departments who do not have a technical background about blockchain technology

A flipped classroom solution to supplement active learning and problem-solving in relation to critical elements of the dissertation process for final-year students

Practical Guides and Resources for Creative Spaces and Processes

Project Lead: Conall Cary

A series of visual guides, instructional aids and learning resources to supplement in-person workshops taught in practical arts disciplines that make up the Crawford College of Art and Design. This is to support and accommodate a diverse cohort of students and align with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles

Open Science Micro-Credentials

A series of interactive modules on Open Science to covering Open Licensing, Open Access and Open Data

Digital version of “Pause, Explore and Flourish” - A Creative Journal to Nurture Well-being

Project Lead: Jessica Carson-Marbe

A creative wellbeing journal created in collaboration with students to support student/staff wellbeing for use as teaching material in the creative, educational and social fields will be converted into a digital version to extend the reach of the project as a Reusable Learning Resource
