Past Projects: Reusable Learning Resources (RLR) 2023/2024

Lab Camera Action

Category: Video Tutorials / Multimedia Demonstrations

Summary: Chemistry labs are a fast-paced, hazardous environment. It is essential all learners develop the key skills necessary for a lab setting. Multimedia resources have widespread appeal for the current generation of students of diverse learning needs. Lab Camera Action has seen the development of a series of short videos with animations that address these key skills. These short videos are each individual and standalone. Each standalone video can be combined to form a longer, more complete narrative. Animations can be used to reinforce these key skills.

Nature of Reusability: Reuse of these videos is encouraged. The videos are being made openly accessible, with Creative Commons licenses (most likely CC-BY-NC-ND) on YouTube and through various OER repositories including the National Forum and the OER Commons.
The availability of the resources as complete videos, and more importantly as chunked modular sections that can be chosen, as per the needs of the user makes these resources particularly flexible and reusable as well as make Chemistry lab work more accessible.
