TEL Reusuable Learning Resources (RLR) Project
In 2025, the initiative was nationally recognised with the HEA SATLE Impact Award, which highlighted its significant contribution to digital transformation in higher education.
The initiative has grown each year:
2023/2024: Initial call, 40 applications received and 20 projects funded.
2024/2025: Expanded to support both annual and multi-annual projects, with over 60 applications and 8 projects funded.
2025/2026: Now entering its third year, the call continues to build momentum, supporting staff in the creation of high-quality, openly licensed learning resources that can be adapted and reused across disciplines.
About the Initiative
The Reusable Learning Resources (RLR) initiative was first launched in the academic year 2023/2024 by the Department of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) in Cork and the E-learning Development Services Unit (EDSU) in Kerry. It was established as a university-wide project to support the creation of media-rich, open educational resources (OERs) across a diverse range of disciplines.
Supported by Strategic Alignment of Teaching and Learning Enhancement (SATLE) funding, the initiative aligns with MTU’s commitment to fostering innovation in teaching and learning.
